The Human Rights Advocates of Coos County (HRACC) began in the 1980s as a small group of citizens dedicated to promoting equal rights and social justice in Coos Bay and surrounding areas. Since then, HRACC has grown into a nonprofit focused on supporting the dignity and well-being of every community member. Through educational events, advocacy programs, and collaborative initiatives, we aim to create a compassionate, inclusive community where every voice is heard and every need is valued.
To promote equal rights and dignity through education & advocacy services. We celebrate great leaders & promote peace-oriented events to raise awareness of social justice and nonviolence.
To foster a community in which every person understands and exercises their fundamental rights, contributing to a more equitable, compassionate society. HRACC envisions a world where local and global human rights are upheld, inspiring community members to live better lives and work toward a brighter future for all.
HRACC is committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We recognize the value of our community’s unique qualities and encourage all participants—board members, volunteers, and supporters—to treat each other with respect and cooperation. Our DEI policy emphasizes:
Our dedicated board and team members who bring HRACC’s mission to life. Our diverse group includes advocates, educators, and community leaders who are passionate about promoting human rights and supporting community resilience.
We actively seek individuals with skills in financial management, community connections, communications, grant writing, and a commitment to serve others with compassion.
